BFI to commit 900,000 USD over 3 years through the BFI-BIOME program, strengthening Sandeep Nailwal’s philanthropic intent in India

September 25, 2024, Wednesday, Delhi-NCR: BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), a pioneering research institute under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and Blockchain For Impact (BFI) have announced their partnership under the BFI-BIOME Virtual Network Program. This collaboration will focus on translational biomedical research and innovation to deliver indigenous solutions for healthcare challenges. The announcement was made today in BRIC-THSTI, Faridabad, where the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged.

As a frontrunner of STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, and Medicine) research and advancement, THSTI brings the four fields together to create innovative and accessible solutions for public health challenges. The institute has conducted exceptional research and developed methods to address infectious diseases, improve maternal and child health, advance drug development, and develop affordable diagnostics. The newly formed partnership of BFI and THSTI is highly synergistic. THSTI’s vision resonates with the BFI-BIOME Virtual Network Program’s aim to catalyze and support biomedical research and innovation. BFI shall support the efforts of THSTI for research and development of potential healthcare solutions by committing a sum of $900,000 over a course of three years.

Commenting on the new partnership, Prof. G. Karthikeyan, Director, BRIC-THSTI, said, “Such partnerships underscore our dedication to advancing translational research, fostering bio-innovation, and contributing to the expanding bio-economy. This collaboration complements our extensive network of partnerships and collaborations with diverse organizations, aligning seamlessly with the broader objectives of the Government of India’s recently launched BioE3 policy.”

Mr. Sandeep Nailwal, founder of the philanthropic organization BFI, shared his thoughts about the new partnership: “By joining forces with THSTI, BFI aims to leverage their research expertise to address critical healthcare needs and transform public health outcomes in India and beyond. This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to innovative solutions that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.”.

Dr. Gaurav Singh, CEO of BFI, highlighted the importance of the partnership: “THSTI’s emphasis on translational biomedical research is in line with our mission to support deep science and technology that can lead to tomorrow’s healthcare solutions. BFI’s partnership with THSTI marks an important step towards our goal of making India self-reliant in biomedical research and innovation while developing products that can benefit not only the Indian population but also the global community.”

This re-affirms BFI’s commitment to driving change in the biomedical ecosystem by harnessing the power of collaborations and pushing the boundaries of innovation.
