Elon Musk said on Tuesday that Grok, the chatbot from artificial intelligence startup xAI, will be available to all premium members of social media platform X.

Elon Musk said on Tuesday that artificial intelligence startup xAI’s chatbot, Grok, will be available to all premium customers of social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

He revealed it in a post on X, without providing any other information. Previously, the chatbot was exclusive to Premium+ subscribers.

As more advertisers abandon the microblogging platform, the billionaire has emphasized lowering the company’s reliance on advertising and shifted his focus to more appealing subscription programs.

Musk announced earlier this month that xAI would open-source Grok after his lawsuit against OpenAI for allegedly forsaking its initial objective in favor of a profit-making strategy.

The move might provide the public with full access to play with the code behind the technology, aligning xAI with startups such as Meta and France’s Mistral, both of which have open-source AI models.
