BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle company, announced on Friday that it will open a new energy vehicle manufacturing facility in Hungary, which will create jobs.

BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, announced on Friday that it will establish a new energy vehicle production site in Hungary.

BYD claimed in a statement on its official WeChat account that the new factory in Szeged, southern Hungary, will create thousands of local jobs.

The largest Chinese challenger to Tesla already has an electric bus assembly plant in Komarom, northwest Hungary. According to the business, the Komarom plant, which opened in April 2016, was BYD’s first in Europe.

It presently has over 30 industrial parks and production hubs around the world, with factories in the United States, Brazil, Japan, and India.
