What is your vision for the future of IT in the Middle East, considering the rapid advancement of AI and digitalization?

The Middle East region has actively embraced AI, and this trend is expected to continue. AI applications, particularly in areas such as data analytics, cybersecurity, and automation, have the potential to significantly impact business success. Adapting to these new landscapes will drive innovation, enabling the region to harness the full potential of AI and digitalization.

Additionally, in 2024, the buzzword for CIOs is “transformation.” While transformation has traditionally been associated with digital transformation, this year it is more likely to be linked with AI-driven business transformation. The widespread adoption of AI technologies throughout businesses will necessitate organizations to develop their AI strategies and road maps, establish responsible AI policies, review their intelligence architecture, and invest in the reskilling and training of existing staff.

This year’s IDC Middle East CIO Summit is themed around ‘The Future of IT: Rethinking Digitalization for an AI Everywhere World’. Can you tell us more about the event?

This year’s 17th annual edition of the IDC Middle East CIO Summit will serve as a platform for fostering constructive dialogue between leading tech companies and influential ICT decision-makers. Why do you believe that embracing an ‘AI Everywhere’ mindset is no longer a choice but a necessity for organizations?

Embracing an ‘AI Everywhere’ mindset is important in several ways. Organizations that integrate AI across their operations are able to accelerate their business growth, enhance efficiency, drive innovation, and improve overall business performance.
