RPA firm announces Anil Bhasin as the new head

Anil Bhasin on Wednesday was appointed as the new Managing Director and Vice President of the New York headquartered UiPath. Bhasin will lead the Indian and South Asian regions of the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) firm.

Bhasin, the former Regional Vice President, India & SAARC at cyber security firm Palo Alto Netwroks, will replace Manish Bharti at UiPath, who will take on a new strategic role within the company, detail of which will be revealed in the near future.

Bhasin’s responsibility now is to scale the business and technology units of the Indian and South Asia operations of the RPA firm. He will be closely working with Rick Harshman, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific and Japan.

Bhasin’s roles and responsibilities include accelerating the adoption of automation as the preferred platform for catalysing digital transformation across various industry verticals and sectors.

The automation platform of the RPA firm is designed to transform the way humans work. It provides customers with a robust set of capabilities to discover automation opportunities and build, manage, run, engage, measure and govern automations across departments within an organisation.

To execute a business process, the firm’s RPA as a technology allows anyone today to configure computer software or a robot to emulate and integrate the actions of a human interacting within digital systems.

RPA robots are capable of mimicking many human actions including logging into applications, copying and pasting data, moving files and folders, extracting structured and semi-structured data from scrape browsers, documents, among others.

The appointment of Bhasin came as UiPath, on Monday, closed Series F funding worth $750 million that puts the company at $35 billion post-money valuation.

The funding round, co-led by existing investors Alkeon Capital and Coatue, also include other investors such as Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, IVP, Sequoia, Tiger Global, and funds and accounts advised by T Rowe Price Associates, Inc.
